AUGIE HIEBERT ~KL7PQ~

By far one of the most recognized and famous Ham Radio operators in Alaska, Augie Hiebert, KL7PQ got his ham radio license in April 1932 when he was only 15 years old.  His first callsign was W7CBF.

Augie was a founding member of both the Arctic Amateur Radio Club, KL7KC in Fairbanks in 1939 and the Anchorage Amateur Radio Club, KL7AA in Anchorage in 1947.
