Phillip Mannie, KL0QW embraced all that ham radio had to offer.  As an Extra operator he routinely mentored others behind the scenes.  As one of the ARRL Emergency Communications Instructors, students were always fortunate to have him as a mentor.

Phillip went on to be the District Emergency Coordinator for the Anchorage area from 2003 - 2006 uniting ham operators with different skill sets. He was the ANC ARES Net manager for several years offering training and kind words of confidence to new operators. Phil was a regular participant in public service activities and provided us all with the ABC's of radio operations: Accuracy, Brevity and Clarity.

Only known to a few ham operators, Phillip had another passion as a classic Pianist who loved music. He worked for Channel 2, KTUU for several years as their computer engineer.
